High-purity thiourea is widely used in electronic electroplating, scientific research and analysis, fine chemical synthesis, and other fields. Although it is relatively less hazardous than some high-risk chemicals, it is somewhat irritating. Improper handling during charging, dissolution, transfer, and other operations can still result in personal injury, material contamination, and compromised high-purity product quality. When using high-purity thiourea, fine chemical plants must ensure personnel safety and protect materials from impurity contamination, thereby providing dual safeguards for stable production.

Thiourea is available in industrial grade, reagent grade, and high-purity grade. Many users easily confuse product grades and directly use industrial thiourea as a substitute for high-purity thiourea, resulting in a series of issues such as increased reaction by-products, defects in finished products, and distorted experimental data. The main content of high-purity thiourea typically reaches 99.5% or higher, with strict control of trace impurities such as sulfate, chloride, iron, lead, other heavy metals, and water-insoluble matter. For process applications that are highly sensitive to impurities, it is an irreplaceable chemical raw material.

As an important sulfur-containing chemical intermediate, thiourea is widely used in many industrial fields, including mineral processing, electroplating, textiles, and pharmaceutical synthesis, due to its unique chemical complexing and reducing properties. It is rarely used directly as a finished product; instead, it more often participates in production as a process additive and synthetic raw material. Different industries also have different requirements for the purity and impurity content of thiourea.
